Pakistan beat Bangladesh in the opening cricket match of the T20I series at home on 28 May 2025. Pakistan vs Bangladesh 1st T20 2025 was played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, as Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2025. This tour is important due to the upcoming ICC T20 cricket World Cup. In a three-match T20 series, Pakistan won their first T20I match against Bangladesh by 37 runs. Salman Ali Agha led the Pakistan side while Litton Das was the captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team.
Pakistan’s national cricket team squad for this match doesn’t have big names like Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi. Pakistan won the toss in this contest and chose to bat first to set a big total on the board for Bangladesh. Due to the early departure of Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman in the first two overs, Bangladesh dominated Pakistan. Hassan Nawaz, the man in form, and Shadab Khan also played explosively by smashing various brilliant strokes. Hassan Nawaz smashed 4 sixes and 2 fours in his innings and made 44 in 22 balls with a strike rate of 200. Shadab Khan smashed 5 fours and 2 sixes in his match-winning innings of 48 runs, and then was caught out by Shoriful Islam. These were the top performers in Pakistan vs Bangladesh T20 match. Pakistan managed to set a total of 201 runs in 20 overs with the loss of seven wickets in the first T20I against Bangladesh.
Bangladesh started to chase this huge target with Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon, but they didn’t have any reply to Hassan Ali’s destructive bowling. They both were knocked out in the first six overs by this in-form bowler. Tanzid Hasan played some brilliant strokes of 3 sixes and 2 fours and made 31 runs in 17 balls. While chasing the target, 48 of Captain Litton Das and 36 runs by Jakir Ali helped Bangladesh reach just 164 runs while losing all their wickets. These were the top performers of the Bangladesh national cricket team.

The important thing about this contest was that Hassan Ali came to the Pakistan team after a long gap and took his career first 5 wickets in international T20 cricket. This unmatched performance by Hassan Ali resulted in Pakistan’s victory, and Pakistan led the series 1-0. The bowling performance by Shadab Khan was also notable; he took 2 wickets while giving just 26 runs in 4 overs, and resultantly he became the man of the match. This is a great opportunity for Pakistan to win the series after the previous T20 series loss to New Zealand this year.
