Faisalabad Will Host Two T20Is of Bangladesh Tour of Pakistan
The Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, will host the first two T20Is of the Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2025. This venue will host an ICC event after 17 years. Pakistan vs Bangladesh T20 series 2025 will start in Pakistan from 25 May 2025, and the first two T20 matches will be played at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad. Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, will host the remaining three T20 matches. Faisalabad is going to be the 5th venue after Lahore, Karachi, Multan, and Rawalpindi to host an international contest during the revival of international cricket in Pakistan. This tour originally included three T20Is and three ODIs. The ODIs were replaced with additional T20Is by the mutual consideration of both the boards in the form of a five-match T20 series. This series is important due to the preparation purposes in T20 format for both teams because of the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, hosted in India and Sri Lanka next year.
The historic Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, has a great history of ICC international cricket contests. Several ODIs and Tests were played at the stadium from 1978 to 2008, including 24 Test matches and 16 ODIs. The first Test was played at this venue in October 1978, and this was between Pakistan and India. The first ODI was played between Pakistan and New Zealand in November 1984 at this venue. The hosting of the first two T20s of the Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2025 at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, indicates the revival and comeback of international cricket at this iconic venue. The last international match at this venue was an ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh in April 2008.

The Iqbal Stadium T20 2025 match is important because it will be the first T20I in the history of the venue. The Bangladesh team will start preparations for the series from 22 to 24 May before playing their first T20I at Iqbal Stadium, as they arrived on 21 May in Pakistan. Bangladesh and Pakistan faced each other last time in October 2023 in T20Is, and Bangladesh won that match. Pakistan and Bangladesh have played 19 T20Is against each other, and Pakistan won 16 matches.
Following is the detailed schedule of the series. This series will start almost a week after the PSL season 10, which is going on in Pakistan. This series will help the Pakistan team to explore their weakness in the T20 format because their performance was not good in the previous T20 series against New Zealand. Due to hot weather conditions, all T20 matches will start at 8 pm as the temperature becomes moderate at 8 pm.
