England Sealed T20I Series Sweep Against West Indies

England sealed T20I series sweep against West Indies after winning the 3rd T20I on 10 June 2025. The West Indies cricket team played three T20Is during their visit to England in 2025. The England cricket team performed brilliantly under the leadership of their new captain Harry Brook. England won all three T20Is against the West Indies due to their batting and bowling brilliance. England vs West Indies 1st T20I

England offered to play the first T20 at the Riverside Ground on 6 June. England opted to bat first after winning the toss during this tough competition. With the loss of six wickets, hosts made 188 runs in 20 overs while playing first. Jos Buttler’s 96-run feat helped England to reach this total. Jamie Smith scored 38 in 20 balls, while Jacob Bethell managed to score 23. They became the remaining high run-scorers for England in this contest. Romario Shepherd took 2 wickets for the West Indies while giving 33 runs in his spell of 4 overs.

West Indies made just 167 while chasing the target due to their struggling batting. England’s Liam Dawson bowled a stunning spell and restricted the Caribbean side. He took four wickets in 4 overs while giving just 20 runs. Evin Lewis was the leading run-scorer of the visitors and smashed 39 runs in 23 deliveries. England won this contest due to Dawson and Butler’s fantastic performances.

England played against the West Indies in the second T20I at the Seat Unique Stadium. They gave the chance to bat first to WI after winning the toss. West Indies set a target of 197 against England in 20 overs with six losses. Captain Shai Hope hit 4 sixes in his innings and made fighting 49 runs. Johnson Charles scored 47 in 39 deliveries, including 3 sixes and 3 fours in his innings. The explosive Rovman Powell helped his side to this reasonable total with his 34 runs in just 15 balls. Luke Wood took 2 wickets of WI while giving 25 runs in 4 overs.

Ben Duckett and Jos Buttler gave a great start to their side against this tough run chase. Jos Buttler smashed four fours and 2 sixes while making 47 runs in 36 balls in his innings. Duckett scored 30 in just 18 balls despite the early departure of his opening partner. Hosts completed the target with complete dominance in the 19th over.

Jos Buttler T20I Milestone

The experienced and explosive wicket-keeper, Jos Buttler, achieved a huge milestone during the 2nd T20I. He became the fourth-highest run-scorer in the 2nd T20I against West Indies in T20I cricket. The star batter made 3678 runs in 136 international contests. The other important feat of Buttler is that he is the only wicket-keeper in T20I cricket who has scored 3233 runs.

In this contest, the West Indies gave opportunity to England to play first. England recorded the highest total  in T20Is history at home during this contest. They smashed 248 in 20 overs, which was the 2nd highest score by them in T20Is. The star batter of the 3rd contest, Ben Duckett, scored 84 runs in just 46 deliveries, including 10 fours. Jamie Smith was also notable in this contest as he smashed 5 sixes to conclude his 60-run innings.

The opening pair of the West Indies departed early, and thus hosts put pressure from the start. Shai Hope made 45 in 27 balls with 3 sixes during this massive chase. The Caribbean side managed to reach up to 211 in 20 overs with the fighting 79 in 45 balls of Rovman Powell. Adil Rashid and Luke Wood restricted the visitors to this total through his challenging bowling. Thus England sealed the series 3-0 against West Indies at home.
